Who can attend?
EMBA and MBA students who have completed 48 credit points prior to the tour. MBA students not at this stage of their studies may request approval from the MBA Director.
Each participating student can be accompanied by one partner over the age of 18 years, however QUT does not provide a partner's program. The tour is not designed for children. Partners may attend as much or as little of the program offered to students, but will have to travel with the group for the entire duration of the tour. If you are interested in your partner attending, please contact Peter Hollands.
When is the China Study Tour held?
In 2009, the China Tour will take place in April. It is currently scheduled to leave Brisbane on 5 April and return on 18 April 2009.
Which elective units are associated with the Tour?
Two electives are associated with the Tour. They are GSN428 International Study Tour and GSN445 Doing Business with China. For EMBA students, it is also compulsory to complete GSN462 Negotiation Strategies prior to attending the tour. A Powerpoint on Assessments is available here.
What is the investment?
The cost of the 2009 China Study Tour will be $6,000 per person (payable in two installments). This is not inclusive of the unit tuition fees which must be paid separately. The tour fee includes most meals, economy airfares, twin share accommodation and internal transportation. A single supplement of approximately $600 per person can be paid for a single room for the duration of the tour. You may be able to claim the tour fee as a tax deduction, however we recommend you obtain financial advice.
The investment is reviewed each year and is anticipated to change for 2010.
